Caring in Nursing

Introduction

Recognition of personal ethical values and a frequent understanding of nursing and caring are fundamental in nursing work. Caring calls for nurses to focus on connecting with the patients by observing, learning, and being accountable. Watson’s theory of caring identifies it as a nursing concept since it focuses on protecting, improving, and continuing patient dignity (Wei et al., 2019). It is interpersonal interaction and often involves consideration and sympathy, motivation, effective communication and meeting the patient’s needs, attentive listening, and providing details so the patient can reach an informed resolution (Holopainen et al., 2019). Care providers can develop a comprehensive model for enhancing the quality of life and community health through caring.

Expression of Caring

My artistic expression is a poem. It communicates emotions and self-awareness and teaches people the importance and potential of caring in nursing. The poem represents caring since it talks of embracing the practice of kindness and compassion towards oneself, individuals, the patient’s kin, and the population. It encourages faith and hope by going beyond panic experienced among the nurse and the patient. The poem calls for nurses to establish a trusting
